Surf Movie Premier

By: Bill Hogan

Christian Surfers Charleston
Friends and Supporters

Hello! We are excited to announce this years Surf Movie Premier. We apologize for the late notice but we had a struggle nailing down the date and location that would work best for all. Please join us for the movie Walking On Water ... "Two Surfers. One Dream. Finding Faith on the Journey of a Lifetime". We are also excited to have local Christian performing band T Culler to share their award winning music with us. This annual event is a great time for fellowship, entertainment and family fun. We will have a raffle for surf items, a special raffle for kids/parents wanting a softboard Liquid Shredder and a $450 custom Maya surfboard compliments of Charleston Watersport Outfitters and shaper Jamie Tuttle. We will have some food and drink and tables setup for the raffle, Eastern Surfing Association (ESA), Surfrider, Wahine and other sponsors so arrive early to enjoy before the music kicks us off. We appreciate your getting the word out for this event. We have had many people come to know the Lord at this event and many others renew their commitment. Please forward this to your friends and family.

As always, we appreciate your support. Look for the event information and interactive directions on the Christian Surfers Charleston Group facebook site. If you want to update your contact information or be removed from these e-mails, please reply to this message.

Thanks and Peace in Christ!

US Christian Surfers

Dear Christian Surfers Charleston Friends and Supporters

By: Bill Hogan

Please check out the updated site and sign up for the Monday morning devotional. It is a great way to begin the week. Take a look at the CS Prep School to be held at Cape Hatteras and Huntington Beach. If you are young, go! If you are older, we always need volunteers.

Big news ... this weekend starts the 2009 ESA surf contests at the Washout on Folly ... participate, volunteer or watch. Nancy Hussey and Tim Askins are the directors who will never turn down a helping hand. It is also a good time to support your local economy with a stimulus purchase at you local surf shops ... have you checked out the boards for 2009?

Christian Surfers Charleston has been quiet this winter just like the swells. We are looking for an uptick to spread the good news of the Lord and spend more time with many of you. We are still trying to lock in a date for our movie premier of "Walking on Water". We are hoping to have it at St. Andrews like we did two years ago since they were such wonderful hosts.

Check out our Wednesday morning small group/life lessons/bible study (call it what you want) at
in Mt. Pleasant. Thanks to our great friend, supporter and owner of Charleston Watersport Outfitters Dave Clifford, we hold it in the comfort and convenience of his store. We usually go until 7:45am to 8:00am so you can scoot to work or school. Our James Island/Folly small group is on hold as Chris Costa and Amy recover from the birth of their boy Noah. We will send an update as soon as we know how this will be structured and when.

Thanks for all your support and prayers. Please keep Clay Dale in your prayers as he recovers from cancer surgery and continues chemo at home and MUSC. Please keep Peter Kohn's father Rudy in your prayers as he battles cancer. Please don't hesitate to reply to this e-mail with any prayer requests. The power of prayer is an amazing gift God has given us. Finally, don't forget we have a facebook group called Christian Surfers Charleston and we would love for you to take the challenge to join and bring along one other friend who could benefit from the message and love God has to share.

Peace in Christ,
Todd Brazell, Chris Costa, Milton Costa, Kurtz Smith and
